Mike Goodes, student of Robert Linville at Precision Golf School, has earned one of the eight qualifying spots at the U.S. Open Championship local qualifying hosted by Teryburn Country Club in Durham, NC on Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Native of Reidsville, NC, Goodes finished in first place at the qualifying event after lighting up the course with a 9 under par, 63.

Katherine played well today….actually she played extremely well. She made a couple of mistakes on her back nine( holes 4 and 6), but overall she played a solid round of golf. She was very disappointed with her score, especially knowing how well she she hit the ball. We worked really hard this week on short game…typical US Open short game shots. Katherine hit 10 greens, which was good for her first major tournament. We worked a lot after the round on bunker shots and shots from the thick rough around …

Precision Golf Student & PKBGT’s Order of Merit Leader Katherine Perry will compete at the US Women’s Open this week at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, PA. Katherine qualified by winning the Sectional Qualfying event at Carolina Trace Country Club.

I know Mike doesn’t want me to publicize this……but he”ll just have to get over it. I called Mike yesterday after caddying for Abby Bools at the US Open qualifier. Mike wanted to know how Abby and Katherine played, so I had good news and bad news…Katherine won the qualifying and Abby unfortuantely missed by 3. I asked Mike if he played or just practiced and he told me he played…….and WOW…did he ever.

Precision Golf School student and Peggy Kirk Bell Tour leader Katherine Perry continued her great play this year by winning the sectional qualifying at Carolina Trace County Club in Sanford. Katherine’s scores of 71-70 gave her a one shot shot victory. The course was in excellent condition and played 6650 par 72.

Precision Golf students Katherine Perry of Cary, NC and Abby Bools of Hickory, NC both qualified for the US Women’s Open Championship regional qualifying tournament this week. Playing at the Local Qualifier held at Forest Creek Golf Club in Pinehurst, NC, Perry and Bools were 2 or 17 players to qualify from the event.
