30 girls have been named to the 2009 N.C. Girls’ All-State Golf Teams by the Carolinas Golf Association and the Tarheel Youth Golf Association, honoring those junior golfers who have had the most success in amateur and junior golf events at the local, state, regional and national levels over the past 12 months.

Katherine Perry of Cary has been named the 2009 N.C. Junior Players of the Year by the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and the Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA).  Katherine is a student of Precision Golf School Director of Instruction Robert Linville and the 2-time Order of Merit Champion on the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour.
The N.C. Junior Player of the Year award recognizes one girl and one boy who have had the most successful year in amateur and junior golf events at the local, state, regional and national levels.  The …

Southern Pines NC — The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour was at Longleaf Golf Club in Southern Pines, NC this friday for their tenth event of the season.  The field featured overal 30 girls from North Carolina to Florida.  The Ellis Maples design was in great shape as firm and slick greens kept the field from red numbers, but still warranted some solid play.

Precision Golf School student Robert Register of Burlington, NC continues to make an impact in junior golf and is moving up the national rankings. Robert, the reigning NCHSAA 3A State Champion, is currently the #1 ranked player in North Carolina in the Golfweek-Titliest Performance Rankings.  In addition, he is the #24 ranked player in the US in the same rankings.
Currently, Robert is also ranked 3rd in the adjusted TYGA NC State Rankings, leading all players in the North Carolina in scoring differential, averaging 0.86 shots under the course rating for competive rounds.

Precision Golf School student Abby Bools of Hickory, NC captured the Carolinas Young Amateur title hosted by Pinewild Country Club in Pinehurst, NC.  Bools, a junior at East Carolina, duplicated her first round score of one under par 71 to finish at two under par 142.  Playing in a miserable drizzle most of the day, Bools played steady golf all the way around the 5880 yard par 72 Magnolia course recording three birdies, 13 pars and only 2 bogeys.

Rankings have been a hot topic this Fall and with the 2009 season just around the corner, their are many changes that affect girls in North Carolina and beyond that should be aware of.
AJGA EXEMPTIONS
In 2009, we are excited to be added to the AJGA Performance Based Entry System. The Golfweek and Polo Rankings are based off AJGA events so these are essential tools to build a national profile for top players.
