Greensboro, NC. – August, 2010 – The Mike Goodes and Friends Charity Classic Pro Am is scheduled for Monday, September 27th. Building on the momentum of eight Champions Tour players joining the Charity Classic Pro Am this year, corporate sponsors have signed on to help the Triad Youth Golf Foundation’s initiative to support youth golf development in the community. Bruce Vaughan, winner of the 2008 Senior British Open, recently joins Mike Goodes and six other Champions Tour Professionals for this year’s event.

Mike has carded rounds of 71, 71, and 70. He sits at 4 under par, 4 shots back of leader Tom Lehman.

Mike Goodes, student of Robert Linville at Precision Golf School, has earned one of the eight qualifying spots at the U.S. Open Championship local qualifying hosted by Teryburn Country Club in Durham, NC on Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Native of Reidsville, NC, Goodes finished in first place at the qualifying event after lighting up the course with a 9 under par, 63.

Mike Goodes, in his first start of the 2010 Champions Tour, came out firing with 3 rounds in the 60’s to claim a T-6th finish with a score of 203 (-13). Mike is entering his 4th year of play on the Champions Tour following a 24th place finish on the 2009 Champions Tour Money List.
Mike is a student of PGS Director of Instruction Robert Linville and a resident of Reidsville, North Carolina.

I know Mike doesn’t want me to publicize this……but he”ll just have to get over it. I called Mike yesterday after caddying for Abby Bools at the US Open qualifier. Mike wanted to know how Abby and Katherine played, so I had good news and bad news…Katherine won the qualifying and Abby unfortuantely missed by 3. I asked Mike if he played or just practiced and he told me he played…….and WOW…did he ever.
