Mike Goodes, student of Robert Linville at Precision Golf School, has earned one of the eight qualifying spots at the U.S. Open Championship local qualifying hosted by Teryburn Country Club in Durham, NC on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.  Native of Reidsville, NC, Goodes finished in first place at the qualifying event after lighting up the course with a 9 under par, 63.

Northern Guilford’s Men’s Golf team is four shots off the lead with a team score of 308 after the first day of play in the 25th annual North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 3-A men’s golf championships.  The championship is being held at the Foxfire Golf and Country Club, a par-72, 6600-yard layout for the NCHSAA event.  The best four of six individual scores count toward the team total.

PGS student and East Carolina senior, Abby Bools, was named Conference USA Co-Golfer-of-the-Year, as selected by the 10 league head coaches last Monday. Bools is one of three standouts to claim the Player-of-the-Year trophy multiple times in the leagues 15 year history.   Culminating her senior year, she claims the titles of four-time Academic All-American, three-time first team All Conference, and two-time Player of the Year.
