PGS student and East Carolina senior, Abby Bools, was named Conference USA Co-Golfer-of-the-Year, as selected by the 10 league head coaches last Monday. Bools is one of three standouts to claim the Player-of-the-Year trophy multiple times in the leagues 15 year history. Culminating her senior year, she claims the titles of four-time Academic All-American, three-time first team All Conference, and two-time Player of the Year.

Abby fired an even par 73 on Course #2 today to share 2nd place in the stroke play qualifying for the North South Championship at Pinehurst. The match play event begins tomorrow.

Abby Bools won her morning match 1 up but fell in the semi-finals 3 &2. Abby played very well all week and was very pleased with the way she played. The final results are found at wwga.org.

Precision student and member of East Carolina golf team, Abby Bools, continues her solid play. She won both matches today…2 and 1 in the morning and 5 and 4 in the afternoon over Kim Donavan from Duke.
The quarter-final and semi-matches are tomorrow with the finals on Saturday.

Abby continues her consistent play this year as she finished 2nd in the 36 hole stroke play qualifying for the Western Am in Lima, Ohio. Abby shot 75-74 on a course that nobody shot par for 2 rounds. She said the greens were extremely fast and very undulating, making putting extremely difficult. Abby won today’s match 5 and 4. The Western Amateur continues through Friday.

I know Mike doesn’t want me to publicize this……but he”ll just have to get over it. I called Mike yesterday after caddying for Abby Bools at the US Open qualifier. Mike wanted to know how Abby and Katherine played, so I had good news and bad news…Katherine won the qualifying and Abby unfortuantely missed by 3. I asked Mike if he played or just practiced and he told me he played…….and WOW…did he ever.

Precision Golf School student and Peggy Kirk Bell Tour leader Katherine Perry continued her great play this year by winning the sectional qualifying at Carolina Trace County Club in Sanford. Katherine’s scores of 71-70 gave her a one shot shot victory. The course was in excellent condition and played 6650 par 72.

Precision Golf students Katherine Perry of Cary, NC and Abby Bools of Hickory, NC both qualified for the US Women’s Open Championship regional qualifying tournament this week. Playing at the Local Qualifier held at Forest Creek Golf Club in Pinehurst, NC, Perry and Bools were 2 or 17 players to qualify from the event.

Precision Golf School student Abby Bools of Hickory, NC captured the Carolinas Young Amateur title hosted by Pinewild Country Club in Pinehurst, NC. Bools, a junior at East Carolina, duplicated her first round score of one under par 71 to finish at two under par 142. Playing in a miserable drizzle most of the day, Bools played steady golf all the way around the 5880 yard par 72 Magnolia course recording three birdies, 13 pars and only 2 bogeys.
